Solar Relief
|
Solar Relief is a profit for purpose organization based in Townsville, Queensland Australia led by Trent Small, a proud Indigenous entrepreneur and businessman. His idea behind Solar Relief was inspired during the lived experience of Tropical Cyclone Yasi in early 2011. In the aftermath, and without power for almost 2 weeks, Trent identified the need and the opportunity to deliver disaster support more efficiently and more rapidly, and soon after his idea was born. Since his initial concept in 2012, Solar Relief has established a comprehensive performance history and proven experience in varying sectors, including disaster relief, Defence, LGAs, Civil Aid (in the Pacific and in Northern Africa) and other domestic sectors. He seeks to build capacity to expand his idea on a global scale and create a pipeline of skilled employment to support the local economy.

Solar Relief is the solution to ending global energy poverty
Are you prepared for the next natural disaster? How long could you last without power?
Imagine a portable power supply that could provide safe and clean renewable energy anywhere and anytime, no matter what the conditions.
In 2011, Cyclone Yasi hit the east coast of Australia. it caused 1 billion dollars’ worth of damage and left thousands without power for weeks. Townsville man Trent Small was one of these people left stranded with two broken, noisy and expensive petrol generators. His solar panels sat on his roof, useless – generating power, but with no way to store this power.
It was here that he realised that the world was lacking a safe and reliable way of generating and storing power. So, armed with an idea, esky and his tool shed, he set to work on a solution. Five years later, Trent’s Portable Power Supply (PPS) has become a reality. Developed with engagement and field trials with the Australian Defence Force, it is diverse and modular, and able to be deployed to disaster zones worldwide for immediate and safe renewable electricity. PPS are diverse and can also be charged via alternator, mains power, generator or other sources of renewable energy such as wind.
Trent has developed the PPS with a clear focus to provide a product to end energy poverty and enable medical devices, communication and disaster relief services to be utilised when all other systems fail. They can be deployed to even the most remote villages and set up for immediate use.
The PPS come with a battery lifespan of eight to ten years (with 2 or 5 year warranty). They are built to last, and are the most dependable and reliable power solution on the market. Head to our product links or ring us on 0437 289 282 for more information.
